Minnitt Named DAC Women's Basketball Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Tynia Minnitt was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

A 5-foot-4 freshman guard from Waco, Texas, Minnitt scored a season-high 26 points, and had eight assists, seven rebounds, six steals and a block in a 47-point win over No. 11 nationally-ranked Dallas College Mountain View Thursday. She shot 9 of 18 from the field, connecting on all four 3-point field goals she attempted. Earlier in the week, she had nine points, seven assists, six rebounds, four steals and a block in a win at East Texas University Junior Varsity.

Minnitt is averaging 10.9 points and 3.4 steals per game.

Cedar Valley, which is receiving votes in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, is scheduled to host No. 12 Dallas College Richland (5-8, 0-0 DAC) at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2.
