Yeldell Named Third Team All-American

Dallas College Cedar Valley women's basketball player Shandrea Yeldell was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Third Team All-American.

A freshman guard from Dallas, Yeldell averaged 17.3 points, 4.2 assists and 3.6 steals per game. She shot 52.7 percent from the field and 32.7 percent from the three-point line. She scored in double figures in 17 games, including a season-high 33 points in a win over Dallas College Richland. Yeldell had 32 points against NJCAA Division II Arkansas-Cossatot Jan. 10. She scored 20 or more points in seven games.

Yeldell scored in double figures in 15 straight games as the Suns went 15-5 overall, advancing to the NJCAA Division III South Central District Championship game.
