Dallas College Cedar Valley's Ja-Tauria Miller was named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

A sophomore guard from San Antonio, Miller scored 23 points on 10 of 18 shooting, and had three assists and a steal in the No. 7 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III-ranked Suns' conference-opening victory at Dallas College Richland. It was just her third game this season, and it marked her first start.

Miller sank both of her free throws, and made one three-point field goal. She is averaging 10.3 points and two assists, while shooting 42 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line in her three appearances this year.

Cedar Valley (9-3, 1-0 DAC) will host Dallas College Mountain View 6 p.m. Thursday in another conference game. That game will begin a three-game homestand for the Suns, who will entertain Texas Wesleyan Junior Varsity 2 p.m. Sunday and Jarvis Christian University next Monday at 5:30 p.m.
