Bio

Marcus Woodard was named assistant men's basketball coach at Dallas College Cedar Valley in October 2025.

He is also the eSports at Cedar Valley. A Dallas native and graduate of H. Grady Spruce High School in Pleasant Grove, Woodard brings a wealth of experience in player development, leadership and competitive excellence to both programs.

With over four years of experience in basketball coaching and player development, Woodard established himself as a respected figure in both traditional athletics and the growing field of collegiate esports. He began his coaching career with Situs Sports Dallas, where he specialized in player development and performance enhancement.

In addition to his work in basketball, Woodard has an extensive background in eSports. He previously served as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets’ NBA 2K League affiliate, Hornets Venom GT, where he helped guide the team to two AT&T “The Turn” Tournament Championships. At Cedar Valley, he has led his teams to multiple national titles, including one NJCAAE NBA 2K Championship and two NJCAAE EA FC Championships.

Beyond coaching, Woodard is passionate about mentorship, teamwork, and personal growth through sports and gaming. Outside of his professional duties, he enjoys music and entertainment as a professional DJ, as well as spending time gaming and connecting with the community.
