Men's Basketball Takes Series from Mountain View

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley men's basketball team beat Dallas College Mountain View 109-88 Wednesday to win the season series.

Cedar Valley won the last two games in the three-game series, and will enter next Wednesday's National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament quarterfinals at Dallas College North Lake as the No. 5 seed.

Jordyn Johnson hit 10 of 12 field goals, finishing with 23 points to pace the Suns (5-21, 2-12 Dallas Athletic Conference). J'Ylon Nobles had 19 points, four assists and three steals. He made nine of 13 field goals. Matt Lawrence had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and one blocked shot.

Aviyon Bell had 13 points and six assists, while going 6 of 10 from the floor. Bryson Harris drained four of five triples to finish with 12 points. Emmit Blevins had 10 points, two steals and a block.

Mountain View's Kaden Richardson scored 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting. He hit four of seven three-pointers. Anthony Cook had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Blake Cook-Edgar had 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal. Jalen Thomas scored 10 points off the bench.

Cedar Valley was 12 of 16 from 3-point range. Mountain View (6-22, 1-13) was 18 of 23 from the free throw line.

The Suns will finish the regular season at home against sixth-ranked Dallas College Eastfield (19-8, 11-3) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
