Lyons Selected as DAC Player of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Larry Lyons was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
A 6-foot-3 sophomore guard from Pearland, Texas, Lyons scored 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting, and had five rebounds, two steals and two assists as the Suns picked up their first league victory of the season in an 84-81 win over Dallas College Mountain View Saturday. He was 6 of 7 from the free throw line.
Lyons, who is averaging 20.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, has scored in double figures in all 19 games he's played this season. He's had 20 or more in 11. He leads the DAC and is tied for 16th in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in points per game.
Cedar Valley (4-16, 1-7 DAC) will host Dallas College Brookhaven (8-15, 2-6) at 6 p.m. Monday.
