Cedar Valley Collects 6 All-DAC Baseball Honors

DALLAS – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Julio Cuotto and Kai Kirchheiner were named to the First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference.

Cuotto and Kirchheiner headline the list of six Suns to earn All-DAC honors.

Cuotto, who shared the league's top designated hitter honor with Dallas College North Lake's Salvador De La Garza, batted .347 with six home runs, 21 doubles, two triples and 48 runs batted in. An outfielder, Kirchheiner hit a team-best .386 with six homers, 17 doubles, eight triples, 49 RBI and 18 stolen bases.

Easton Bettcher was named Second Team All-DAC shortstop. Pitchers Christian Alcala and Blake Brown joined him on the Second Team. Brance Farrell was an honorable mention selection.

Bettcher batted .346 with nine doubles, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases.

Alcala, a right-hander, went 2-5 with a 5.49 earned run average and 30 strikeouts in 62.1 innings, which spanned 15 appearances, including 11 starts.

Brown, another right-hander, was 4-4 with a save in 44.1 innings, in which he struck out 43 while posting a 5.08 ERA in 18 appearances. He was named the DAC Pitcher of the Week in late April.

A catcher, Farrell was named co-Honorable Mention with Dallas College Eastfield's Jake Pickering. He batted .333 with four home runs, 12 doubles, a triple and 33 RBI.
