Davis Named DAC Offensive Player of Week
Dallas College Cedar Valley's Jaquavius Davis was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference baseball Offensive Player of the Week.
A sophomore outfielder from Dallas/DeSoto High School, Davis batted .500 (7-for-14) with a double, a triple, five RBI, four stolen bases and a walk in four games last week. He had a .714 slugging percentage and .533 on-base percentage, and scored five runs as Cedar Valley split a four-game series with Hesston College.
Davis hit safely in all four games, collecting two hits in each of the first two games. He went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in a 9-5 win Friday. He was 2-for-4 with a double, and drove in three runs in Friday's nightcap – an 11-9 loss.
In the first game Saturday, Davis was 2-for-3 with two RBI in a 15-5 victory. He had a hit in three plate appearances in the series finale.
Davis is batting .440 with six RBI and six stolen bases this season.
The Suns (5-3) open DAC play noon Wednesday at Dallas College North Lake. They will host the Blazers Friday and Saturday at noon.
